Volunteer Opportunities

For years, we have found that more people find out about LGH from a personal referral rather than any other type of advertising. If you would be willing to place brochures at your local church, Pregnancy Resource Center, or any other location, please contact us and we will gladly mail resources requested.
Internship Opportunities
We are not accepting internships at this time.
Being an intern at the Liberty Godparent Home can be the first step in the development of your career. Internships offer you the chance to integrate the knowledge you gained in the classroom with career-related work experience. Through the years, interns have made strong contributions to the success and growth of our ministry!
We like to have applications long before your school’s deadline. We ask that applications for the summer and fall semesters are turned in by mid-March, for the Spring semester by mid-November. Applications that do not include a resume, current photo, and two references, will not be considered. Please contact us if you have missed our deadline and feel as if you would be a good match. Assistant Houseparent
Positions Available Per Semester: One – Three
Hours: Daytime, Evening and Weekends
Supervisor: Maternity Home Director
The Intern will assist the Houseparent with daily tasks for the day and monitor activities. This position demands someone that can handle stressful situations, who exhibits great maturity, and healthy boundaries.
- Assist with overseeing resident daily activities, maintaining rules and regulations.
- Work with the other team members to prepare nutritional meals for resident daily.
- Supervise during meal preparation through clean up and assign duties as necessary.
- Assist with escorting residents to appointments away from the facility. This is a shared task between many of the LGH team members.
- Follow program schedules such as, church attendance, meal planning, food shopping, fire drills, room inspections, and keep accurate records.
- Assist the Houseparent on duty with daily progress notes, including medical and educational information.
- Participate in trainings, including CPR and First-Aid.
Office Assistant
Position available: One
Supervisor: Maternity Home Director
The Intern will work directly with the leadership team to help with the daily running of the LGH program. This internship will include assisting the Director with event planning, creating/updating the database, assisting the Assistant Manager with scheduling everyday business tasks or completing special projects.
You must be able to effectively work with a strong sense of professionalism. You should possess good verbal and written communication skills. We expect that you show excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks. The intern must be able to think creatively or out-of-the-box and be able to manage a project with goals and deadlines.
Social Media
Position Available: One
Supervisor: Maternity Home Director
We are looking for an Intern to assist with our social media marketing efforts. You will learn the ins and outs of our ministry and help make social media a productive part of our overall marketing efforts.
You must have ample experience with social media. This Intern must be able to think strategically and see how social media fits into our marketing strategy (i.e. building relationships, connecting with donors, and updating the community). Our main goal is to connect us with young ladies that may need our services or connect us with those that work with teens.
Interns must be able to assist in formulating social media plans (once ample information is provided to you), and then carry them out (with our assistance). You must be able to measure and document the impact of social media, and then suggest action-steps to increase impact. You must be able to multi-task, think creatively and exhibit great writing skills.
- Creating/updating our profiles and pages (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
- Uploading videos, photo albums, etc.
- Finding users to follow/friend/like our business
- Writing and posting blog posts/tweets/updates, etc.
- Offer suggestions and education to the leadership team regarding social media.
